The ranch
Far from everything, by design. We plan for that.
Whispering Oaks Ranch sits about 20 miles southeast of downtown Moab, up the La Sal Mountain Loop Road at 7,950 feet. Once you’re up there, nobody is running back to town, so your bar has to be planned before anyone leaves the valley. We’re on the ranch’s trusted vendor list, and we know what this property takes.
We won’t need directions
The ranch warns guests that GPS can be unreliable past Moab. We know the road, so your bar team shows up on time with everything it needs.
Everything rides up with you
This isn’t a quick run to town kind of venue. We send your shopping list early, you bring the alcohol up with you, and we bring the ice.
No travel fee
The ranch is close enough to town that getting us up the mountain costs you nothing extra.

Our vintage 1983 Burro serves from a rear window, and at Whispering Oaks that matters. The service spot sits at the end of a tiny driveway, so a trailer has to back in, and a lot of side-service bars simply don’t fit. Sparkles backs right in and opens up toward your guests.

The Ranch Bar
Already at the venue
Whispering Oaks has its own small, portable wooden bar, and it’s already at the venue. We can use it for your wedding, so there’s no need to bring a bar at all, and it’s an extremely popular choice. There’s room for one bartender behind it, which is just right for up to 75 guests. Here’s what we provide:

Pavilion weddings reserve the entire property for at least two nights, so the celebration doesn’t have to stop at one. We also pour for:

Can a bar trailer fit at Whispering Oaks Ranch?
Yes, and Sparkles is our typical choice. The service spot is at the end of a tiny driveway and a trailer has to back in, so a lot of side-service bars don’t fit. Our Wunderbar trailer has side service and could potentially fit, but that would be a unique setup, so call us and tell us your vision.

How much does a bartender cost at Whispering Oaks Ranch?
Sparkles packages start at $2,100 and include the trailer, your bartender, cups, ice and insurance. If you’d rather use the small wooden bar already at the ranch, we provide the bartender, insurance, cups, ice, napkins and cocktail stirrers, starting at $600 for up to 75 guests. For larger groups at the ranch’s bar, two bartenders and a second service station start at $1,700.
Who provides the alcohol?
You do. We’re a dry-hire service, so you buy the alcohol at retail and keep what’s left. We send a shopping list tailored to your menu and guest count, and our alcohol calculator can help you estimate. Plan to bring everything up with you, because the ranch isn’t a quick run back to town.
Do you bring ice up to the ranch?
Yes. Ice is included in every ranch package, and it comes up the mountain with us.
How many bartenders do we need?
One bartender covers up to 75 guests. Above that, we use two bartenders, and at the ranch’s bar we add a second service station. For weddings close to the ranch’s 200-guest maximum, we may suggest a third, and we’ll talk it through on your planning call.
Do you charge a travel fee?
No. The ranch is about 20 miles from downtown Moab, and travel is included.
Do you serve winter weddings at Cedar Bend Lodge?
Yes. We also serve winter micro-weddings at Cedar Bend Lodge, along with welcome nights, brunches, retreats and reunions. These are quoted by the job, so tell us your vision on a planning call.
